Our programs are designed to train you to become an efficient dental assistant in a private dental office, hospital clinic, health department, or mobile dental unit. We ensure you are able to thoroughly train while maintaining your current job or responsibilities.

Hands-On Assistance

Enrollment or completion of the program does not guarantee employment, but we will provide job placement assistance. This will include advice on interviewing techniques, resume preparation, and how and where to find employment opportunities.

Enrollment Requirements

New classes start every 13–15 weeks. Students are able to enroll at any time by completing and submitting the following requirements:

  • Complete application form
  • $100.00 application fee
  • A copy of a high school transcript
  • An essay on why the student is interested in our program and what value they feel they could bring to the dental field

Our Courses and Programs

Dental Assisting

Dental assistants’ duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting patients
  • Reviewing medical histories and planned treatment
  • Preparing examination areas
  • Cleaning up after procedures
  • Sterilizing equipment
  • Assisting with dental procedures such as fillings, crowns, and extractions
  • Operating equipment and monitors
  • Talking with patients
  • Performing administrative tasks
  • Radiology

The fee for this program is $5000.00

Other Continuing Education Courses Offered

Coronal Polishing

Coronal polishing is limited to the removal of plaque and stains from exposed tooth surfaces using an appropriate rotary instrument with a rubber cup or brush and a polishing agent.

Students must meet the Dental Assistant II requirements set by the North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners to attend the course, including copies of:

  • Medical Emergencies
  • Infection Control for the Dental Office (not Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification

The fee for this program is $395.00. Students are also required to complete 3,000 hours of chairside assisting.

Dental X-Ray/Dental Radiography

This program costs $500.00

Nitrous Oxide Education Course

The fee for this course is $250.00

CPR

This course costs $40.00-$65.00.
